All eyes on “Emily in Paris” style

NOVEMBER fashion spread is all about the new Netflix super show "Emily in Paris”and the new elegant style trends it is bringing into the fashion world. I bet you all have heard about it, and if you have not - head right now to Netflix and find it!

One of the facts that really surprises me is that the casted leading actress Lily Collins looks very much like a young Audrey Hepburn herself. Darren Star is the creator of this show ( also a producer of iconic "Sex and the City" series and Beverly Hills, 90210 ). He is definitely taking us back to the place where Carrie Bradshaw's Parisian voyage ended. It is so exciting to see the connection between Audrey's incredible style from the past and today's modern fashion world.

I have to be honest - Emily Cooper's ( Lily Collins ) outfits are not always my favourite. They are very loud, colourful, and sometimes even too young for my personal taste. Still, they definitely show the reality of the " Instagram world " and how society has changed over the decades of famous TV shows. A fun fact is that even the TV show " Gossip Girl " is mentioned and plays a significant role in Emily's style choices.

THE BERET: a classic French style icon is back, again!

Beret, as an accessory, was introduced to society in the 19th century in France and Spain. Initially, it was a part of a military uniform for men, but around the 1920s, it became a fashion statement piece ( ref.wikipedia ). Later, already mentioned style icon Audrey Hepburn happily wore berets to accessorise her outfits. Other celebrities as Greta Garbo and Brigitte Bardot also loved them. In the " Sex and the City " era around 2003, the beret was back. Many top models, including Linda Evangelista and Kate Moss, re-started wearing this style accessory. I asked Lale Temori - a Hamburg based fashion blogger - what inspired her to wear the beret and here is what she says:

“ I love vintage fashion and especially the time period between 1930 - 1960 cause it had a special shine! Style icon Audrey Hepburn is one of the reasons for my passion for accessories like the BERET. I actually have been wearing berets for years now. “
